Welcome to Samurai Beach Resort

Samurai Beach Resort is a winner!! The Resort has won an accommodation award at the 2007 Mid North Coast Tourism Awards. Come and see what all the fuss is about.....

Worth discovering...

Samurai Beach Resort, one of Port Stephens newer Resorts, offers the perfect escape to nature. The resort is a 20 minute walk to some of the most spectacular surfing and swimming beaches you’ll ever see, or a 3 minute drive to the patrolled end of One Mile Beach.

Located only 10 minutes from the heart of Port Stephens, yet a world away, the resort is set in 8 hectares of stunning bushland and nestled on the edge of the magnificent One Mile Beach and Samurai Beach sand dunes. The resort offers the best of both worlds being close enough to experience the abundance of sights and activities Port Stephens has to offer, yet secluded enough to commune with the native bird and animal life which have made their homes in the surrounding wetlands.....worth discovering.

Koala Tracking Program @ Samurai Beach Resort

Did you know? That we offer guests the opportunity to participate in a koala tracking program by filling out a survey form & noting down times and locations of any Koalas spotted in and around the resort. Relevant information is located in all rooms.

These surveys are then collated by Port Stephens Council's Environmental Services and utilised accordingly.

Did you know? If you spot a Koala at Samurai Beach Resort you get the opportunity to name it, your choice, anything you like! .....Our friendly staff will write the details down on a special marker board under the tree where the koala is so other guests can spot them easily.

Did you know?  When a koala is rescued it is usually named after the person who found it or the place where it was rescued from.

Whale Watching Season
Date: Approx May to Mid November.

Over 9,000 Humpback Whales have begun their journey north along the coast of NSW and whale watching cruises will operate out of Nelson Bay Port Stephens from the middle of May to late November. Port Stephens offers one of the best vantage points anywhere along our coast to view these 40 tonne mega-mammals swimming close in along our shores.

Port Stephens juts right out into the East Australian Current, remember the EAC and Finding Nemo? This means the whales have to swim close inshore when travelling north to avoid being set back against the strong southerly current. Humpbacks normally swim around 7 kilometres an hour and need to conserve their energy for the long haul, so by sticking close to the rocks the whales make better headway. That’s good for the
whales and great for whale watching as we don’t have to go far out to find them. This also makes good viewing from many of the headland vantages around the area.

Contact the resort for more information and whale watching packages.
